It’s Official! Welcome Matt Nosbaum, PGA as Deer Park Golf Course General Manager
As of October 1st, the General Manager for the Deer Park Golf Course is officially now Matt Nosbaum, PGA, We have all seen Matt for some time now, but we wanted to officially welcome him!! With a proven track record in tournament operations, player development, and guest experience, Matt brings a blend of professionalism, energy, and passion that aligns perfectly with the spirit of Deer Park.
A Proven Leader in Tournament Management
Matt joins Deer Park with standout experience from his time at Circling Raven Golf Club, where he played a key role in tournament management. At one of the region’s most respected facilities, he helped coordinate events that ranged from member outings and charity fundraisers to high‑profile competitive tournaments. His responsibilities included everything from organizing pairings and formats to ensuring smooth pace of play and memorable post‑round experiences for every participant.
That background has given Matt a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of what makes a tournament truly special. He understands that great events are built on clear communication, thoughtful planning, and genuine hospitality—qualities he is excited to bring to Deer Park’s existing calendar and to future events that will grow our presence in the Inland Northwest golf community.
Grounded Experience from Indian Canyon
Before his time at Circling Raven, Matt sharpened his skills as an Assistant Professional at Indian Canyon, one of the most storied courses in the Spokane area. There, he worked closely with players of all ages and abilities, assisting with lessons, junior programs, league play, and everyday golf operations. That hands‑on experience at a busy, community‑oriented facility gave him a strong appreciation for what golfer's value most: friendly faces, consistent course conditions, and a welcoming atmosphere from the first tee shot to the final putt.
At Indian Canyon, Matt learned how to balance the needs of regulars, first‑time visitors, and competitive players alike. That balance serves him well at Deer Park as he supports daily play, leagues, and special events while keeping the experience enjoyable and accessible for everyone who steps onto the property.
Built on Hard Work, Fun, and Lasting Relationships
At the heart of Matt’s approach to the game are three core values: hard work, fun, and relationships. He believes that a great golf facility is built on a strong work ethic behind the scenes— from the maintenance crew and golf shop staff to teaching professionals and food‑and‑beverage teams. His leadership style emphasizes preparation, communication, and accountability, all while keeping the experience enjoyable for staff and guests alike.
Just as importantly, Matt sees golf as a game that should always be fun. Whether it’s a casual nine holes after work, a family scramble, or a serious tournament round, he wants every player to leave Deer Park with a smile. For Matt, golf is a powerful way to build lasting relationships—between friends, families, colleagues, and the broader community. He’s passionate about creating opportunities for people to connect, from league nights and junior clinics to special events that bring golfers together on and off the course.
